Donald Garrett Appointed to Initial Board of Tysons Community Alliance

Tysons, VA – On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Robert’s Rules of Order Expert and Professional Registered Parliamentarian Donald Garrett was appointed to the Board of Directors of a new entity, the Tysons Community Alliance (TCA). The TCA is a new concept in Fairfax County for an “Anchor Organization,” similar to a Business Improvement District in other jurisdictions across the nation. However, instead of being solely business and economic focused, the Tysons Community Alliance will also have input from residential, civic, and nonprofit interests.

Donald Garrett, the Principal of Last Minute Meetings, served as part of the implementation team and as an initial incorporator of the new corporation. As part of the implementation team, he was a member of the Bylaws Committee that formed the initial set of bylaws for the Tysons Community Alliance.

“It is an honor to be able to give back to my community and provide expert knowledge of procedure and bylaws to help this organization get off the ground running,” said Donald. “If all goes well, I believe this sort of organization can be replicated in other areas across Fairfax County and the nation. I am looking forward to serving on the Board and providing a resident’s input on the issues facing Tysons and its future development.”
