Donald Garrett Appointed to No. VA Tax Advisory Board

Fairfax, Virginia — Last Minute Meetings is proud to announce that the company’s Principal and Founder, Donald Garrett, MPA, PRP was recently appointed to the Tysons Transportation Service District Advisory Board by the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County Virginia. This appointment carries a two-year term.

The Tysons Transportation Service District Advisory Board was established in January 2013 to advise the Fairfax County Government on the appropriate tax rate to fund the Tysons Transportation Service District and provides input on prioritizing transportation projects in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Mr. Garrett, as a resident of the district, will provide a citizen’s perspective to promote transit services and activities that will enhance public use and enjoyment of the area.

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to get into the weeds of a local government issue that impacts me on a daily basis,” said Mr. Garrett. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to connect further with other leaders of the greater Tysons area, as well as increasing public outreach concerning transportation infrastructure in the district.”

The Tysons Transportation Service District Advisory Board is a public body subject to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Mr. Garrett’s service on the board will provide a first-hand, hands-on experience on implementing and complying with VFOIA public meeting regulations and providing advice as a parliamentarian.
